Who we are
MockSeat is an AI interview-practice tool for Indian engineering students preparing for campus placements. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what happens to it. Short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we sell nothing, and you can ask us to delete everything.
What we collect
- Account details — your name and email from Google sign-in (or the email you register with), plus the profile you fill in during onboarding: college, branch, graduation year, target companies, and the areas you find hardest.
- Practice data — your interview transcripts, feedback reports, aptitude drill attempts, and usage counts. This is the product: your reports are built from it.
- Payment records — when you buy a plan we store the payment id, order id, amount, and validity returned by Razorpay. We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN, or bank credentials — those go directly to Razorpay.
- Basic device signals — a hashed technical fingerprint (browser and locale information) used only to detect abuse of the free tier. It cannot be reversed into personal data.
How your data is used
- Interview answers are sent to third-party AI providers to generate questions and grade your responses. Transcripts are shared with them only for that purpose — they are not used to build advertising profiles.
- Usage counts enforce fair-use limits on the free and paid plans.
- Your email is used for account access and, rarely, service messages. No marketing spam.
What we never do
- We never sell your data to anyone.
- We never post anything on your behalf.
- We never share your transcripts with colleges, recruiters, or other students.
Where it lives and how long
Data is stored in a managed Postgres database (Supabase) protected by row-level security — each student can only ever read their own rows. We keep your data while your account exists. Email seatmock@gmail.com from your registered address to delete your account and everything attached to it; deletion is completed within 30 days.
Cookies
We use only the session cookies required to keep you signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date above changes with it and significant changes will be announced in the app.
